Review Positively Disney Kimberley BouchardStories evoke our own stories—even ones we may have completely forgotten. A professional continuing education conference brought me to Orlando and Disney World for the first time. I was in my late 50s. I’d always loved the Disney movies and cartoons but never had the opportunity to visit the much beloved iconic park. Being someone who did not enjoy anything more riotous than the merry-go-round and the It’s a Small World ride I quickly gravitated towards meandering through the Kingdom to enjoy the ambiance of the magical worlds of Disney. I found the larger than life Disney characters especially enchanting. To my delight I saw a sign welcoming guests to visit with Mickey and Minnie Mouse. I cued up in a long line of squirmy 2-6 year olds and their parents. In spite of the tumultuous chaos surrounding me I found myself utterly transfixed as I watched the familiar mannerisms of the famous duo. How familiar the expressions were as Mickey and Minnie bowed their heads and how they gestured with their white gloved hands. Suddenly I catapulted back into a time and memory long forgotten. Growing up in an Army family we were stationed in Germany during my early grade school years. There were no TV cartoons available. To make my indoor January birthday party special my parents purchased a few small reel Mickey and Minnie Mouse cartoons to show with an 8mm projector. I remember how much my friends and I enjoyed those cartoons. I remember how they made me feel special and valued. By the time it was my turn to be introduced to Mickey and Minnie I could feel the tightness in my throat as the tender emotions of reminiscences swept over me. I shared the memory with Mickey and Minnie and told them how they’d played a key role in making a little girl very happy on her birthday. And how happy the recollection made me again that day more than fifty years later. With merely the nod of their heads and without saying a word- they took both of my hands into their massive white gloved hands and let me know they understood and were happy for me. Wonderfully delivered stories of Disney World!!! While reading the stories, it brought back so many memories of when I went to Disney World as a child with my family. It is a trip that I cherish to date and will never forget. Thank you for writing a great book! I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
Kimberley Bouchard inspires, enlightens, and gives her reader the positivity this world so often lacks. I went to Disneyland as a child and loved experiencing the magic which always sparked my imagination and creativity. Now that I have a son of my own, Positively Disney gives me new excitement to witness the magic he will get to experience through Disney too!
Living in California up until I was 14, we would go to Disneyland almost every year. I couldn't wait for Summer when relatives would come and visit. Reading these stories have triggered many wonderful and cherished memories of my youth. Oh to be a kid again.....oh wait, I still can be, all because of Disney!
These people, their stories, are what is still good and important in a sometimes not so good world. Yeah, "It's world of laughter. A world of tears. It's a world of hopes. And a world of fears....." Positively Disney is good for the soul!
My family loves Disney. We've been many, many times ourselves. In fact, we're heading to Disneyland next month! We have our own wonderful experiences that keep us going back. So, it is so fun to be able to read other accounts that line up with our own. I've loved each story that I've read so far. Disney has a way of touching the lives of all of us, no matter what our background, upbringing or age. When in a park, we all have something in common. We're kids again. Perfectly titled, Kim's book has captured wonderful and positive stories from Disney vacationers. I loved reading this book and experiencing the joy and energy from all the people who contributed their unique tales, some comparable to my own. Our son, Daniel, who has autism was a Disney "expert" long before his first trip to Disneyland in 2001. Watching him open up and actually talk to all of the Disney characters was nothing less than magical and brought tears to my eyes. Reading this book brought me back to that moment. Kim shares many stories that are happy and heartwarming. Her book is a pure GOOD! I can't wait for the next one!
Amazing, must read! This book is inspiring, uplifting and heartwarming as the title suggests. Another great book written by Kimberly Bouchard! It is a must read and a wonderful gift idea. This book brings life's best moments into full view, allowing us to cheer and cry at the same time. These real stories provide a glimpse of the peaks and valleys we all experience, giving readers the inspiration to observe and hold onto those peak moments even if they are far apart. You don't have to be a Disney fan to love this wonderful book. It is for anyone who wants to celebrate life's most precious moments. I cannot wait for Kimberly Bouchard's next book, keep them coming.
